Craft Forms 2003, the National Juried Exhibition of Fine Contemporary Crafts, will be on display at the Wayne Art Center December 6, 2003 − January 21, 2004. This eagerly anticipated exhibition, celebrating its ninth year, is dedicated to enhancing the public's awareness of fine contemporary American craft while providing a venue for established and emerging artists from this country and abroad to share their creative endeavors. Craft Forms has earned a rapidly growing reputation as one of the nation’s most recognized contemporary craft exhibitions. The finest works of ceramics, wood, fiber, metal and glass are featured, supporting the Center’s mission of expanding the public’s awareness of fine contemporary crafts, and significantly benefiting all educational programs for children and adults.
The juror of Craft Forms 2003 is Paul J. Smith, Director Emeritus of the American Craft Museum, who has been involved with the craft and design field for more than 40 years. Paul Smith selected 85 works from 73 artists from 26 states and Canada. Over $3,000 in prizes will be awarded. These works were selected from a total of 674 entries.
“For nine years we have been increasing awareness of contemporary American craft, and we are excited to present artists from all over the country,” said Nancy Campbell, Executive Director.
